Campbellsville University's online criminal justice associate degree and theology master's degree programs have been ranked fourth and eighth in the nation by TheBestSchools.org, a rising college resource.
Judged on a number of criteria, including program quality, courses offered, awards, faculty, academic standing, and online reputation, TheBestSchools.org assembled lists that rank the 20 best programs in each field. The website describes numerous advantages to Campbellsville's Graduate & Professional Studies school, as its online criminal justice associate program "covers parole, probation, psychology, public operations and procedures, court processes, criminal investigation, court procedures, and criminal law, laying a strong, wide criminal justice base for career advancement." Students can begin the 60-credit program — which includes 30 criminal justice credits and 30 general education credits — at any time during the year. Other schools on the list include Indiana Wesleyan University, Florida Tech Online, Liberty University Online, and Post University.
"The Campbellsville University faculty know that the institutions that will succeed in the new era of online learning will be the ones that offer quality programs," said Dr. DeWayne Frazier, associate vice president for academic affairs. "This is one of the many reasons why we take pride in being ranked number four by TheBestSchools.org website."
Ranked eighth nationwide for its online theology master's program — with available emphases in Biblical Studies, Pastoral Leadership, and Theological Studies — the school's 30-credit curriculum is available to prospective students at many points throughout the year, unlike programs with rigid semesters. TheBestSchools.org highlighted the program's elective options, such as Church Planting, Pastoral Care in Human Crisis, and the Baptist History and Heritage. The website also mentioned Campbellsville's use of video conferencing services in lieu of face-to-face courses, which provide a human component that other online programs may lack. Other distinguished schools on the list include University of Dallas, Calvin Theological Seminary, Iliff School of Theology, and Saint Leo University.
"This recognition of our online graduate theology program reflects that commitment to excellence and providing our students with life-changing academic training — whether in the traditional classroom setting, online, or in a blended format," said Dr. John Chowning, vice president of church and external relations and executive assistant to the president.
